Are the 1/4" outputs in the same places on most of the different models ? My 1612 location is slightly different than my 1717. If I remember correctly (it's been a long time) my 1612 came with a cable when I bought it new ! It was a right angle to straight very thin chord.

The straight plugs scare me. If hit just wrong, it could stress the bowl and break it around the jack. One of the dogs broke the wife's good electric keyboard that way. He knocked the keyboard backwards and it landed on the plug, which broke the motherboard inside!

But the quality of those available now make them preferable to the straight ones not only for convenience, but as FlySig mentioned, the damage that could result from lateral stress on the plug.

Oddly, lettering on the cable implies that it is directional with a straight plug for the amp/board end and an angled plug for the guitar end. Depending upon the type of guitar stand used, if any, the angled plug could interfere with the bowl resting on one of the bottom arms. This is easily overcome by swinging the cable a bit, but you have to be sensitive to it.

I guess I should have read the labelling. It's tough being an old lawyer when your eyes are too bad to read the fine print.

Mine has a directional arrow on it so a dummy like me would know which end to plug into what ! Yea gotta be careful when putting the 1717 in the guitar stand, sits right on the output, not an issue on my 1612 cause the plug is a bit more toward the back of the bowl.
