Anyone have any experience with the Palmer FAB 5 Amps made in Germany? I'm looking for a good low wattage Tube Amp...one not made in China. A link here:

Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | Thanks for the response guys. I'll probably wait a little bit and here a few more reviews before buying one of these amps.
I'm trying to get better with the electric guitar and especially love the blues. It's kind of funny but I have a very nice bluesy Carvin guitar. But is seems the first electric I grab is my VXT. I love it. And blending the electric with the acoustic is just awesome! I just need a little better electric amp now. |

Location: near Cologne/Germany | Hi, I had a look on the website of a bigger German distributor to get an Impression of what buyers did post there.... and feedback is really good. They all sound very content with the palmer. it was said that it is Much louder than expected, and people appreciated the power attenuator, which gibt's three levels, from bedroom to loud... one was missing the FX jacks with regards to the price and another one wrote it to be the best amp he had tested so far for playing harp. Others wrote they were also happy with pedals before the amp. another wrote there is little clean before the Sound becomes crunchy, also because the boost is on, even when put to zero. The boost could be turned of with a foot Switch. and they do like the looks! regards, Georg |

Location: Utah | StellarJim, I know the F word can be toxic on this forum, but Fender makes some really nice small amps. The SuperChamp XD is really well regarded, and it has a lot of different tones. Lots of great tone options, with real tube sound. I love mine. It has been discontinued and replaced by the SuperChamp X2, which I have not played but also gets good reviews. Replace the stock speaker with a Ragin' Cajun.

The Fender Blues Junior III is a great tube amp for that blues and rock tone.
Another amp that sounds great is the Fender Princeton Recording amp. All tubes, plus it has a built in attenuator so you can drive the tubes hard but keep the volume as low as you like.

Location: Germany, where delicious wine is growing (Rheinh) | Jim, the Superchamp XD is exactely the one I use for the VXT connected with the humbuckers, the fishman to the Genz-Benz. You will have never ending combinations of sounds. I've upgrated the Fender also with the cajun-speeker and two matching bulbs.

Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | Looks like some interesting suggestions here. I'm going to dig in and compare the different suggestions on youtube. I like to plug in headphones when listening to Youtube videos because it gets around the cheap computer speakers.

Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | It's interesting that 2 of the suggestions recommend a Fender Amp....but to swap out the stock speaker with a Rajun Cajun. This is the exact speaker found in the Palmer Fab 5. |
