He's still alive and kickin:

JUST RELEASED

Some of the cuts sound pretty doggone good in my opinion.

Love CCR. Probably my favorite band ever. But John seemed to lose a lot after they broke up.

I do the on-line I-tunes thing at Apple so I'll be able to check out the new album. I'm cautiously optomistic.

My wife won't let me listen to Fogerty or CCWR. Hates his voice. My personal opinion, well, his voice is, ah, unique.

He sure got alot of music out of a few basic chords. Hell of a voice also.
As long as you don't go "Behind the Music", he's okay.

I saw him last month in Austin (check an earlier thread). Was very impressed.

Don't think he ever played Ovations.

I don't think he ever played a roundback. His contribution to music is very large, I recognize that but it just doesn't do it for me.

He's doing a live concert tonight 9/22/04 on A&E. Creedence and the Blue Ridge Rangers were great recordings. Too bad he has to invoke his politics in his music today. Shut up and play your music.

Tommy

I watched it, good pickin' and singin', lots of CCR, no obvious politics though I thought I heard some audience boos. All in all, a good show with good musicians and songs.

CCR was a way out band to me in the 60's but I liked their songs.

the boos were in reference to when they asked a trivia question of who inducted John in to the rock and roll hall of fame. The answer was Bruce Springsteen, remember this show ws shot in New Jersey and when a crowd chants brUUUUUUUUUce it sounds like Booo.

Fortunate son was the only political statement I heard and that was written 30 plus years ago.

Two thumbs up on CCR, but not on the solo stuff.

There are a handleful of rock songs in this world that I really dislike with a passion..."Center field" is one of them.

Could have something to do with my lack of interest in baseball, but I don't think so.
