Just wondered if any owners or those that have experienced them thought they were worth that money or not? I haven't been able to find one near to test drive for myself. Thanks.

If you are willing to spend over $1300 for an O, I'd look for a 1769ADII Al DiMeola CL to try, the two I've played were both better than both of the 30CLs I've played (acoustically......plugged in, I don't know). I'm just getting re-aquainted with Ovations and am in the learning process. I currently have two and the Big Brown truck is bringing the third tomorrow according to their tracking. Is this the first signs of an addiction?

I have compared and allowed several others to compare the AD-II 2004 Al DiMeola v. the 30th CL Anniv...as an acoustic, my four 30th's are better than the DiMeola, yet taking nothing away from the AD-II. All I can tell you is that of the other 6-str guitars I have, the 30th CL Anniv is played more. Included in that are 3 Adamas I's, Adamas II, Millennium Adamas, SMT Adamas, 1619, 2001 Collector's, 1537, 1127, etc... Everyone is free to buy what they want...and Ovation/Adamas gives us a lot of models to choose from. However, the 30th CL Anniv is a wonderful, well balanced instrument that respects the past as it is updated for today. If I had one Ovation, I would keep the 30th CL Anniv.

The CL-30th is a very attractive guitar, although not top of my list. The AD-II ??? Now THAT one in BLACK is the cat's meow to my eyes. Maybe doesn't sound quite as nice as the CL-30th. I don't know since I don't own either of those models and I do trust Tony's ears 100% (but not his eyes!). I own a 1619 CL in BLACK that I do think sounds quite nice. But again, the AD-II just really strikes me as a very attractive guitar.

The Al Dimeola also has interested me for a while, but unfoturnately there isn't a huge selection of Ovations in the Toledo area. I'll keep loking. worshipleader,my wife of 31 years is OK with my "O" ddiction. It keeps me off the streets and out of trouble. Just opened the package for the 79 1117 I bought. Needs major cleaning, restringing, and the bridge is lifting some but not a big deal. Guess I'll be busy this weekend.
