I sure noticed back then and managed to scrape together enough money to buy the cheapest USA made Ovation in 1977 as my first new guitar. I didn't get my second new guitar until the OFC about 30 years later.

When did he play? "Oh...it was the Hot August Night Tour, my dad took me and we were in at a table up front, it was when he recorded that live album." My jaw literally dropped, pretty sure I was speechless for a few moments! Only the greatest album cover of all times...not to mention the recording!! Ah these kids who grew up here...so damn lucky. Ain't no one came to the hills of Arkansas where I grew up... Well except the great Levon Helm.... Oh yea and there was that time Blue Oyster Cult played the VFW in Fayetteville...

Hot August Night was already playing on the 8 track, so it wasn't that album. I believe it was the Beautiful Noise tour maybe? He played the coolest guitar ever. I never knew what it was till I met y'all

It had a very romantic tone as well. Even with all that my girlfriend broke up with me the next day. Maybe I should bring my wife to his show? Lol
