He scored on a Rainsong JZ1000, and it took him a few days, but he finally got around to checking it out. A couple of hours at GC later (we had to go someplace where we could make some noise without disturbing our wives and pets...) and I must say, I'm very impressed :D :p :D :p

I was concerned about the photo of the fretboard. It appears to have wear and the trebles seamed to have areas of corrosion. Turned out to be the picture, finger oils, and gold trebles. SRV1 wiped down the board and sent me a picture of a shiny board.

Shipping turned out to be a killer for him. The case was wrapped in 3 - 4 inches of bubble wrap and then boxed with an additional thick layer of syrofoam peanuts suspending the wrapped case. I think this was the largest box I have every received a guitar in. I offered to reimburse him for the packing and shipping, but he refused and just told me to enjoy.

Lady Noah told me she wanted to get me a guitar for my upcoming birthday, but didn't know what to get. She gave me the ok to buy it. Is that how birthdays work after 50... SWMBO just tells you to buy what you want?

Give me a break... it was not scheduled for delivery until the 11th. Although I knew Friday morning it was on the truck, I was already set to be over at the Uncle's house Friday and Saturday. I said I'd crack it open Sunday and I did as soon as I got up and going. Ok, I'm a little different about setting priorities.

I think they discontinued that model now. They are very cool guitars, way better than their acoustics

Wow, I never knew Rainsong made such a guitar. It looks very cool. Is it as light as I suspect it should be or is it a heavy guitar?

Very light. Fit & finish is flawless. I hear they only made 50 of them in Maui. They offered it in 1999. I missed ordering one new. I don't recall how long they were in production.

Push-pull pots provide coil-taps for the humbuckers. There's the typical three-way for the pups and then another three-way for mag, mag-acoustic, acoustic only. It lacks a blend and dedicated output for the acoustic bridge, but it is not an acoustic guitar. It will be interesting to compare it to our other electrics that have piezo bridges. Fred, how do you think it compares to the Parker Jazz?

Trboy, My birthday is way off. SWMBO found a great way of getting off the hook very early. What a great wife!

Very unique piece of equipment. What may I ask is the body made of?? is that all layered composite material that is molded and sanded to look like that trough a clear finish or is it a real funky paint job over a plastic body??
Whatever it is it is a real cool looking and fun looking instrument. First time I have ever seen one to be honest.
Those Sharks make this a real keeper!
Enjoy my friend.

It's all clear-coated carbon-fibre.
