Can't say I've ever seen a cherry burst K1111. Is that right?

It's always interesting to see how the bracing patterns start to show through on the older pre-71 or so models... I've always wondered why. My Brother's 71 Balladeer is the same way clearly showing the VT bracing.

that's a nice looking early Balladeer. and the first I've ever seen with a finish other than a -1 or -4 for those years. was it done with some repair work? or did it come from the factory in a cherry burst finish? as I didn't even think Ovation did custom colors like that in 65-67..

also that bracing pattern on that one you have pictured is the same pattern as was on the '66 Balladeer #22 That your friend Jerome just bought off of Mr. Carney and is currently at the Ovation Factory.

pretty cool to see another old one like that... and especially in color.

Thanks,

Mike

This guitar is really strange.I got it at Guitar Center,Mass. As far as I can tell,a real 1968 Balladeer in a rare finish.Any help from the O experts is welcome.

Is it a 2 part or 3 part top?

Edit: Never mind. I could see from the pics on the ning site that it's a 3 planker.

Why is the rosette different from my 68?
Is it because it's a Balladeer and not a Deluxe?
Pardon my ignorance on 'em.

could be an original colour but I'd have to see the guitar. I would lean toward saying it's a redo but it looks very well done so...........
If it's original it's very rare.

I love the way the bracing comes through! It actually enhances the look IMO, whereas usually it would detract.
