Location: Waurika OK | CC165 deep bowl Celeb. Only made for two years. Pictures looked good, talked to seller, assured me all was well with guitar. We made a deal.
In trying to research CC165 here, very little info, but noticed Bentman had asked about CC165 in March. Bentman do you think this is the same guitar, (same asking price also).
Bentman, an awful realization just hit me, when you posted I thought you were making this known so anyone who was interested could investigate. Now realize that you may have been interested also. If that is the case, I will gladly back out and let you take the guitar. So sorry if I rushed in, did not mean to jump ahead of you. |

Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | Just a note, I have a CC65 12 deep bowl. Nice looking guitar, and the action is incredibly easy, but I am dissappointed in the lack of low end/bass plugged in or not, especially for a deep bowl. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by my 1117 81 Legend (very deep and dark).
I'm not sure if the bracing is different, but compared to a Pacemaker (which many say is to "harpschordy" and not very "bassy") the CC65 has much less punch.
Again, for $200.00, I'm sure it's worth it, but if bass is important to you, keep looking. My CS255 shallow bowl blows the CC65 out of the water. Don't mean to rain on your parade, just want you to be informed bro!

Location: Upper Left USA | The Pacemaker I had was an outstanding Chord-Strummer 12 string! Put heavy gage strings on for a short time, tuned down 2 frets, and it was an orchestra!
Compared to the Adamas SMT I have now - I can finger pick the SMT and get better enunciation but I miss the envelope that the Pacemaker produced.
Norsey - try some non-Phosphor Bronze strings for the low end! |

Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | I agree, I love the sound of my Pacemaker too! I was just saying how I've heard many others say they sound too "tinny". I use a heavier set of Martin strings on it, and it sounds great!
The problem with the bass on the CC65 does not seem string related, as much as perhaps bracing or design. It's hard to describe, but I've tried different strings, it's more of an overall reflection of the soundboard. Almost like it is too tight, not enough vibration. |

Location: Waurika OK | This one is a 165 not a 65, don't have a clue as to what the difference is. CC 65 made 86-93; CC 165 made 94, 95. It should be here this week, I guess I will know soon. |

Well, it's a two piece top, spruce I'm pretty sure. And I'm pretty sure this one was made in 94 xnoel.
In any case, I wish you the best, who knows, maybe this one was just the runt of the litter! I'm just happy I have the Pacemaker I aquired through Trboy (thanks again Mike!), it is a very nice guitar!
