Good band.
I'll never understand how "My Sharona" & "Good Girls Don't" made it past the censors of the time.

Tight band...loved the guitarist; the drummer died in '06...the song "My Sharona" was always "in your face"....I liked that a lot...RIP Doug, you fought a long and courageous fight!

Too bad he died, but they sucked.
I remember at the time a guy named Iian Fluckes was trying in the worst way to get Ovation to sponsor them in a big way, product and money.
We said no and he came right back and said we had to get behind the Bond guitar which had an equally star stubber ride up and as rapidly down.
I thik the third thing old Ian wanted us to get involved in was a Chardonnay winery. Might have been good but his two first strikes didn't let him in the door very far. Wanking Brit???

Good story Beal. I wasn't a big fan of the group, but I like the song, and that was a live version, and it was tight. Loved the solo.

By the way, was there an endorsement problem with McCartney back in the 70's?

no, he never endorsed anything. Bought it all. We couldn't use his name in advertising, his picture yes but name, no.

I never liked the song, and they played it on the radio every 12 minutes. You switched channels and it would be playing there!

I thought My Sharona was about a guy wanting to, and eventually, humpimg his friend's girlfriend.
A thouroughly generic, though classic, pop tune.
You can hear this immortalized in a muzac edition on the weather channel.

With all due respect, this thread was just meant to pay respects to someone who died, NOT a critique of what anyone thought of the group of the song.

Moderators, I respectfully request that this thread be CLOSED..
