Sara had her Berklee audition/interview Thursday which went very well. The one surprise was that they no longer take in demo CDs at the interview, they just get a Myspace url to go listen to recordings. Sara uploaded some new tracks last night that need some plays.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could go hit her Myspace and play the low-count songs to help get the # of plays up on the songs and get the daily # of plays a boost. The play only counts if the whole song runs through, you can't cheat it by only playing a couple of seconds.

The audition was held at the Utah Opera building that houses their rehearsal space. Sara said she was in a huge black box room that had just the right amount of acoustic reflection that she could hear herself very well. Makes sense that an opera rehearsal space would have great vocal acoustics. Sara played two songs, one of which was an original that Katie accompanied her on. Then she played a solo cover of a current artist that I don't know. After that it was call-response of increasing difficulty until getting to what she described as random notes and intervals. Then it was sight reading a couple of melodies (vocal), and then vocal improv over a piano accompaniment.

I wasn't able to hear her audition but Katie came out all pumped up and said that Sara had nailed it.

Finally it was off to to another room for the interview with all the usual types of questions.

While I was waiting there were a couple of guitarists warming up who made me feel a bit inadequate. They are certainly a lot more skilled than anyone I knew when I was in high school. Sara and Katie had the best guitars there by far. :)

I couldn't find those you listed above, but I suspect that's because I don't have a myspace account. I listened to all of those on her front page and Sara has a beautiful voice. You must be proud. Good luck!
