This unique guitar has a Pearl top, different from the usual Wood-grain and Sun-burst tops. It's not only an eye-piece, the guitar has a brilliant sound and angelically plays well with a low bridge. When amped to through the XRL cabling you cannot get a more clear and acoustically natural sound. Sold with the original case. Asking - $5,000

Far be it from me to be the price police, however my gut tells me that since one can find a near mint stock 1537 for about a grand, you might be a tad on the high side with your price. But if you can get your price, I'd be very happy for you.

If you're just here to sell a guitar... well frankly your ebay ad will do better than any listing here, especially in this limited Welcome Center. However, if you would like to become part of this community, just let us know and we can move this post into the For Sale section.

This could be a nice guitar for someone, but I think it's going to be tough sledding getting to the asking price.

There's probably few on the planet that are attracted to this guitar as much as I am, though I have no interest in replacing my -1. Edited by Damon67 2015-07-08 10:52 AM

Its value is whatever someone wants for it (which I'm not trying to solicitate). The guitar is original in its own term because it was probably one of the only ones that was given the update it has. You can fairly call this over priced. I was hoping a fan club like this might appreciate it, or at least a collector.

Generally, a 1537 might sell on eBay for $1537... or Less. Look around and you will see that they have sold for less than a thousand. All of those "custom" accouterments are only appealing to a few people. People custom order stuff to their liking... which makes them difficult to re-sell. And I still feel that you think that you would come here and find a sucker who will buy that for an exorbitant price. But that is just me. ![]()

Regardless of how they may come across, the folks who have posted so far are just trying to help and at the same time not be discouraging or act as the price police which is frowned upon. The bottom line is you have a beautiful and unique guitar that should fetch top dollar. That being said, "top dollar" for any NON-Adamas is maybe 3K. In fact there are custom order Adamas guitars, and even rare mint original production ones, that barely get near 3K. The people responding have had Ovation build them custom guitars to order that don't run near 5K. Personally I would LOVE to see you get that much. We all have been riding the "cheap guitars" thing for too long. Now that Ovation's are going to start being made in the USA again... I think the days of only spending only $2K for an Adamas are going to be relegated to distant memory, but it hasn't happened yet. So again... good luck on the sale. If you'd like to continue to participate in these forums, just let us know and we'll upgrade you and move this to the for sale section.
