Nice guitars. This has probably been brought up before, but I think Ovation really missed the boat on naming the Deacon. That thing is 'Battle Axe' from the word go. . .

It has to be one of the most unique and coolest looking guitars that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing and now owning. Now hopefully the tone is there too !! May plug her in some time today.

Tom

As usual, very nice pics Doc! When do you find the time to play all of them?

I don't!! I try to play every day, but it doesn't always happen. Some times I don't play for a week !But I try to minimize those times.

jpcannon,

Thank you. It is even more stunning in person. It looks like a fine piece of furniture. The whole back of the neck is also sunbursted; very cool.

Bernard,

Thank you for taking a look. I don't know if it's refinished or not.

I was operating under the premise that this was the original finish. It does have some wear and a few dings, so it doesn't look brand new. I also used some Virtuoso cleaner and polish before shooting the photos.

I guess if I pull off the pickgard or neck I might be able to tell but I'm not ready to do that yet !

Regards,

Tom

Looks original finish to me.

Ovation has always made some of the best looking "bursts" on the planet!
