I could sure learn a few things from some of the "Masters" on this board.

Yes, WM, there are several gatherings all over the place and, if you're lucky enough to be even relatively close to one, I would hope and suggest that you make every attempt to join in. The OFC is made up of some insanely great people people and players (and then others who are just insanely insane) but I would venture to guess, after attending a few myself, that you would be very happy you did. Meet fine people, play some outstanding guitars and, probably most importantly, make friends that you'll enjoy the company of for years to come. There's one going on in Fl right now but keep your eye on the Board for upcoming events, they hit the NorthEast from time to time too.

It's absolutely amazing and refreshing to see the bonding and support that occurs here. My first 'gathering' I attended was last October at the Smokey's Jam. There was not one stranger there! It was such a rewarding experience. In fact, I'm trying to get some rest prior to heading up to the G8R Bowl II tomorrow and meeting old and some new friends. But the excitement is similar to being a kid on Christmas Eve. Just keep your eyes open for announcements here. Attend one and you'll never regret it! ;) Hey Mark, when can we have a gathering in the Boise area during the warmer months? I'm ready...

I'm dying to meet more as I'll admit I'm pretty Jealous of the fact they have so much fun when they get together. Had hoped to join in on the Fall "08" tour of the plant but that never transpired. Maybe 2009!! Bob

Then there are some that don't think we have airplanes here. We ended up with the first NW Gathering in Portland that year and had a great crowd. I don't think I've seen our other Idaho member, tdeej, since. Maybe when Spring rolls around I'll post a few pictures from up at the cabin and see if it generates any interest. It would be pretty tough for people to fly to Boise and then have to drive 100 miles up to McCall, though. Maybe we'd need another motivator, like flying Matt in for a clinic.

I just think that all those good people figured that it was easier for me to come to them, rather than them come to me. Understandable. There are few people that think of Idaho as attractive, but people are learning.

In addition to sharing a passion for Ovation guitars, Let's just remind the rest of those on this board that together we bring them something worth traveling for............ THE POTATO! Which makes me wonder, could folks be enticed to attend a summer "Maine Jam" if it included Maine lobster, baked potato, and blueberry pie! Anyone?
