Definitely more of a challenge but in my opinion the appearance is by far the best. Just my .02 Will post some pics of my Q597 Cobalt Blue. Can be just about as troublesome but the appearance will make your jaw drop. :D

A shot of Fender/MacGuires Mist and Wipe spray does a good job at keeping fingerprints in control... but they cannot be totally avoided... OF course I play just as crappy on a dirty guitar as on a clean one... .so it matters not.

Sure it shows up finger marks more but I always give it a blast of polish before a gig. Looks great on stage, especially with all that abalone shimmering. If you want black, get it.

Sure they require a bit more cleaning to keep the fingerprints off them, but for me it's worth the trouble. I've had black classical, legend, custom legend, elite, and ukulele. Loved the looks of all of them.

Only you can see the fingerprints and smudges and to the rest of the world they look great ... unless you take a picture of them. ;)

I've been told that the neck (also black) is wood, but it's got a really strange, black "satin" finish to it that kinda seems like it might be foam, but I don't know . . . . Anyway, the neck seems to stay pretty nice. The top however is gloss black and seems to show EVERYTHING and constantly asked to wiped-down . . . To make matters worse, the finish on the top has some flaws in it, so no matter how much you wipe/clean/polish it, it's NEVER gonna be "perfect", so it just kinda adds insult to injury . . . It doesn't get used too much (vacations, beach & such), so I'm pondering making it a "project" guitar and possibly re-doing the top with some kind of "trick" finish. As some of you may know, cwk2 was nice enough to lemme babysit Q#010 for him over the Winter . . . THAT thing is an absolute CHORE to keep "clean"-looking! When the light hits it just right, the grey carbon-fibre under the finish really "pops", but when you DON'T see it, it looks (for the most part) like a very glossy all-black guitar. I religiously wash/dry my hands before picking it up, but it still seems to show evidence that it's been handled. I constantly keep a clean chamois around to wipe it down, and the little music shop in town has had to bulk-up on their Dun65 inventory in my honor. Being that the ENTIRE thing is glossy (and "black"), there's a lot to keep clean - top, neck AND bowl. (Do you guys with the old "shiney" bowls spend a lot of time keeping 'em "clean"??) Being such a striking instrument, you spend half you time looking at it, and the other half playing it . . . . . lather/rinse repeat . . .
