Seen in the factory: proof that the VXT will be available in a natural finish that shows off its beautiful mahogany stock . . .

Is the "2080" soundhole a VXT option? Or were those only on prototypes that I saw pics of?

Sorry guys,

They all get sealed with clear before the black or burst finish is applied...

Nuts. You had to spoil it for us, huh Fred? Nonetheless, it demonstrates possibilities.

Yeah, Fred is right. I saw theses and immediately got interested ... UNTIL we were told "next we spray right over them with black paint".

ARRRRGH !!!! I have zero need for a VXT. BUT if one were pretty enough I would find a way to buy it. But so far they have all been pretty plain jane.

From the rear they look beautiful in see thru. Maybe they want to hide the front? Any full frontal shots, Prof? ... you know, as I wrote that, I realize I just lapsed into the world of guitar porn ... I'm going to h@ll.

That said, last year I made a tele with a book matched front (swamp ash), nothing fancy, not a tiger eye grain, or flame, but it came out looking nice. Don't see way it can't be done here, and it would save the cost of paint, plus labor, reduce the cost a little. Could make the bean counters happy? No?

The spruce tops are JUST as beautiful!!

I think the Black & Burst was part of GuitarCenter's Marketing Wisdom(?).

I suspect that once these are openly released to other dealers, the possibilities'll be pretty cool . . .

I have zero need for a VXT, but when they build one with a natural finish and a spruce top, then add the Thunderhead fretboard, I could be forced to buy one...

Not available now??? No big deal. But just look at the potential for the future.
Face it guys... the eye candy thing is a big factor in what makes us break open the ol' wallet.

+1!

That prototype they had at the factory with the -4 finish, tort binding and 'Soloway-style' hole was FREAKING AWESOME! The Bartolini looking pups and the rubberized knobs were the finishing touches. Why they didn't offer that is...uh...well, must be marketing.

Oh well, I need an Adamas anyway. Maybe. Al? :p
