Anyone remember this? I bought it on Ebay last year and has been sitting at Cliff's since September.

It used to be a 1117 Legend which had been given a new headstock and re-topped with solid cedar and then an attempt at installing a spider resonator. The reso conversion was a total mess, which I didn't realise until it was in my hands. Anyway it's all sorted out now and set up for lap style playing. It sounds as good as my buddy's 70's OMI Dobro and the best thing is the whole lot including an Ovation case, new spider cone, tailpiece and Lace Dobro pickup cost me less than $300.

I do remember... and it didn't look like that. I thought it was still lounging at Cliff's. I'd like to hear it in action. 300 bucks- How fun is THAT!

Nice looker and I bet it sounds pretty good too. Too bad you'll have to put up with the "It rolls off my lap" jokes.

Nice job, Paul! Looks a lot better than my Matrix jobs, and A/E-equipped!
As for the "slide" function, pour a bit of pancake syrup in your lap.

"Why steal the hub caps when you can steal the car?"

Very nice. Does this mean you want into the BFLG Paul?

Paul, that looks really good. I was particularly impressed with the cedar top when you showed this to me. The end result is very impressive. Good on you!

Padraig, that was a spectacular bottle of red you gave me, where I can get some more!

Paul, I'm glad you liked it! It's relatively easy to find locally; try Sainsbury's in Durham. I got that bottle from our local off-license which has recently upped its game!

For the benefit of anyone from the Board reading this: the bottle in question was 'Peter Lehmann Barossa Shiraz': I'm a wine enthusiast, and this to me is an excellent red.

Thanks again Paul: I'll post your book this week.

"Again"???....

You must first stop, to do something "again."

As a founding member of the OFC BFLG, I am extending an invitation for admission to Temp. His project certainly meets our meager criteria, and we would be honored to count him among our number. Hip, hip.....

Imagine the sound on impact.

... Sumthin' akin to Jerry Douglas beating his wife.

Seesquare, Thanks for the invite, but to quote Groucho Marx, I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member.

Here's the reso in action at tonight's folk club gig. No pancake syryp required.
