It used to be a 1117 Legend which had been given a new headstock and re-topped with solid cedar and then an attempt at installing a spider resonator. The reso conversion was a total mess, which I didn't realise until it was in my hands. Anyway it's all sorted out now and set up for lap style playing. It sounds as good as my buddy's 70's OMI Dobro and the best thing is the whole lot including an Ovation case, new spider cone, tailpiece and Lace Dobro pickup cost me less than $300. ![]()

I got that bottle from our local off-license which has recently upped its game! For the benefit of anyone from the Board reading this: the bottle in question was 'Peter Lehmann Barossa Shiraz': I'm a wine enthusiast, and this to me is an excellent red. Thanks again Paul: I'll post your book this week.
