Location: Midland, MI | Well, seeing as I've been having too much fun chasing Cliff around the message board, I figured it's about time I ask another silly question...
Does anyone here use an amp modeller? Like a Line 6 POD or Behringer V-Amp type of deal? Here's what I want to accomplish:
a) Plug guitar in one side, headphones in the other...practice through an amp (ok, sort of), without having to haul it around or plug it in
b) Plug guitar in one side, plug other side into Echo Layla 24 (PCMCIA) so I can lay down some tracks in Sonar
I've been looking at the POD and Behringer, leaning towards the Behringer X V-amp, as it has that expression pedal and I think I can take the stereo outs into the Echo without a problem (not that I need to record in stereo). Anyway, any other suggestions? Thoughts? Input? Witty riposts?

Location: Central Florida | I just bought a Line 6 POD, just day before yesterday, and so far I'm real pleased with it.
I like simplicity, so I bought the POD 2.0, as opposed to the "XT" or whatever the more advanced version is called. What I like about the 2.0 is that it's real easy to dial in the sounds I'm looking for because the knob layout is just like that of an amp (channel vol, master vol, bass, mid, treble, reverb, a drive knob and an effects level knob). I bought mine to serve two basic purposes; to use in church as a "direct box" so I don't have to haul my rather heavy amp around, and as an effects processor to run through my amp. Of course, I've only scratched the surface of what it will do. The headphone jack for me is just an added benefit. It sounds though like it would function well for both applications you mentioned.
