Seeing all the options for building guitars I asked them if there would be any Breadwinner/Deacon bodies opted. Greg Stewart responded: Not anytime soon. Thanks. Whether Proprietary or license or whatever I would love to see either a "Kit" market or better still a Hamer Redo! Any thoughts, history or facts?

Seems to me it should be approached. You can only make commission on a moving product. I think it would grab a good deal of market. But then again I've been hanging around a bunch of Ovation Nuts and my view may be a little skewed.

When he introduced his "revolutionary" guitar Klein ripped-off Ovation's 25+ year-old concept of an ergonomically-designed instrument & he still consistently refuses to acknowledge that the Ovation Breadwiner/Deacon was a major influence on his totally derivative guitar. Cross a Breadwinner with a Steinberger and you have a Klein. http://www.kleinelectricguitars.com/Klein/

According to Charles’ son (and future president of Kaman Corporation), Bill Kaman, Jr., Ovation considered “pointing this out” (i.e., legal action), but given its bad track record with solidbodies, figured it wasn’t worth the effort.

So, you're saying they won't pull out the tooling to sell a dozen $351 guitars to the likes of us? Man...that's cold. ;) In seriousness, I would add that there may not be a market for them now, but all it takes is one of those bubblegum top-40 groups to breakout playing a Breadweiner...maybe we should petition the Ovation marketroids to acquire some vintage examples, identify a likely band and then 'sponsor' them. :)

I would love to own one but they don't seem to come up for sale too often or cheap. I have a couple of steinberger necks laying around maybe I neeed to get someone to build me a body.

I have, however read every one of his 'rants.' I'm just having a little fun...actually, some of the guitars he has on his site don't look bad. Maybe when I'm out there next week I should stop in and see them in person.
