Josh and the rest of the Queens latest version, less Dave Grohl :( , was on the Late Late Show with Kilborn last night. Lots of shots of his custom GP with the string-through-body work. I had actually thought that guitar bit the dust once, but must have been another one. Oh yeah... Trista was there too. :)

While we're talking GP's (my favorite subject) I'm curious about other's opinions.

I'm thinking about modding one of my GP's. So here's the debate:

string through vs. tune-o-matic vs. original Schaller 455.

That Schaller looks cool but it's kind of a pain in the ass to string, so i was considering putting on a Tone-Pros Tune-O-Mattic. But then there's always the string through option too.

Since these guitars are rare should I keep 'em stock or drill some (well thought out and professionally crafted) holes?

Anyone?

P.S.
By the way the swim suit model is Petra Nemcova. Trista is the name of that stupid "Bachelorette" chick.

What caught your attention more...her boney sternum or her sunken eyes?

I have the Tone-Pro TOM on my SG-62 and they do make a difference in the amount of sustain (more) and improve the tuning stability. FYI

Whoa Bailey, even with our best looking Ovations covering where the fig leaf usually goes, that is truly a scary thought!

I was thinking more of featuring the groupies that certainly follow a bunch of stars like we have around. Playing an Ovation gets one groupies doesn't it? DOESN'T IT? Why is nobody answering right away?

Yo ickygoo....I personally would'nt change my GP, it would ruin it for me even if it does make it better. I am a kyuss fan but I will never modify my sweetheart to match JH. It is the guitars imperfections that make it special/unique. Besides you have an awesome collection of GPs imagine how cool it would be if they were all stock! I mean you would have like 4 of 300...that aint bad man.

Thanks s_mkheidze. You bring up a very good point and you are the voice of reason I was hoping I'd hear.

Must not modify GP's, must not modify GP's

DAMN VOICES IN MY HEAD WON'T SHUT UP!

I am glad that it helped. I am quite jealous of your collection though. How long did it take you to find a black one? I have never see one for sale.

I just got the black one recently thanks to Samova. My obsession started a little over three years ago. It took a long time but well worth the wait. I thought I'd never find one. Hell I knew a few people who thought Josh had the only black one. Turns out there's at least one other...

you certainly are a lucky/rich man for having that many GPs. I will get my hands on another someday, when my work gets me enough money to afford such a purchase.....one day....

Thanks! Unfortunetly I had to sell my honeyburst. Well, I didn't have to, but I did. I use to have two in that color...now none. Got a red one on the way from the U.K.
