Well aside from some personal crap that happened today, that I won't bore you with, it was kind of a sucky day. Got in contact with an old friend and was reminded that 3 years ago his 23 year old daughter died of a mysterious illness. I digress...

Anyway, I decided to send off a Holiday message to all the folks on my address book. There are MANY, so I write up a nice message and blind copied a ton of people. I tried to send it out and it said there were too many addresses. So I cut it down to about 25 and sent it out. I then cut and pasted and sent it out to the next 25 ( I have a ton of e mail addresses) This time my AOL account gets shut down for email spamming!!!!!

A few phone calls and an hour later I get my account reinstated so since I cannot send bulk e mails without getting shut down again.
I just wanted to post the message here. I know it is not as personal as a private e mail but what the hell can I do?

Hey Everyone
Just want to wish you all a merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This year has brought some trying times upon us on a couple of levels, I hope the future is so bright we have to wear shades. (yeah bad 80's pun)
take care everyone

Al, not sure if your week was as hellaciously bad as mine, or worse, but you have my sympathy.

That sucks about your AOhell account. You have your own domain, though, why not just run it through your own mail server? If you don't have one, I may be able to help you out with that...although it's not something that would be done tomorrow. ;)

Thanks for the Holiday wishes. Hope you have an exceptionally merry holiday and that the new year brings happiness, health and prosperity to you and Sue.

Al, guess I was one of the luck ones...

As I look back, finally able to meet a number of members of the OFC in person, phone, or postings that I treasure as friends. I have been well served by Kim and the wonderful artisans of Ovation.

Merry Christmas

FWIW, Al, I just listened to:

John McLaughlin - Electric Guitarist
Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame
Wes Montgomery - The Incredible Jazz Guitar

and now I have Merry AXEmas Vol. 1 going. All was well until Jeff Beck's rendition of Amazing Grace came on. Music is truly good for the soul in a cathartic sort of way.

Positive vibes, good juju, a little mojo and some prayers for whatever you have goin' on, man.

Al

Sorry to hear about your problems with your email, I can sure sympathize. Every time I sit down at the computer for a ten minute task, I arise two hours later muttering imprecations unprintable in normal company. And I used to teach people how to use a computer.

Merry Christmas Mr founder, and you are sentenced to a much better year by a jury of your peers. I had many bad years in my younger days and they have faded in memory with only the pleasant memory that I was younger then and much more able to survive.

You have brought much pleasure to a bunch of guitar lovers by allowing the indulgence in rabid opinionating that would have been flamed on a less tolerant board.

Dear Al, NOT that I am the doubting type, but .... Isn't the old "AOL shut me down" line just the modern day version of "The check is in the mail" ???? Yeah, right! When I designated you as the "Jolly Guy In The Back", I expected better!

All the best and muchos graciosos hubba hubba choo choo.

PS - May Santa bring you a real computer, a real ISP and teach you how to use them. Santa might look Chinese and play Adamas.

A High of 5 degrees yesterday and 15 degrees today and the ground covered with a beautiful white crystalized powder that just shines pure white.....perfect Chirstmas weather IMHO.

AL, and all the others on OFC....thanks for a wonderful year of sharing thoughts, ideas, and just being good friends....with the occassional (hah...did I say occassional) smart ass comments thrown in for good measure.

This board really is a family and I am certainly happy that I am a part of it.

I hope EVERYONE has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and has a WONDERFUL 2005!
