I have a Legend Anniversary Model 1157-7 that I would like to sell. I bought this from the original owner, and includes all the paperwork, etc. Original factory case in excellent condition. The guitar itself is in near mint condition, also. Only issue is the top behind the bridge is slightly raised. You can feel it if you run your hand across the top. Otherwise, not a mark on the guitar. Looks brand new. It was this way when I bought it, and has not changed. Really beautiful looking and sounding Ovation, and very hard to find, especially in this condition. I need to sell, so I'm offering the guitar to forum members at a greatly reduced price from what it's worth. Asking 450.00 for this beautiful Anniversary Ovation. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Hi:

Great looking guitar. I've only played one once. How pronounced is the raising on the top?

a little belly-bulge on these old legends is very normal... and probably wouldn't have that great tone without it.

Jeff, I wouldn't call it severe. Not nearly as bad as my Legend. There's no cracks or anything, and the action is fine. It's a beautiful guitar, and sounds awesome. If it weren't for the raised area behind the bridge, this thing would pass for brand new, and I would be asking a lot more for it, also. I still think it's a great deal, though.

AAA spruce, A brace...a Custom Legend w/o the abalone. This a great price.

Adoption agency may be interested if no one else gets in within 24hrs (my birthday tomorrow). I have a 1658 Custom Legend slothead 12-str in that finish.

Beautiful guitar. Shame shipping costs to Oz have gone throught the roof recently. $150 was reasonable $390 is a bit much. Good luck mate.

Hey Mike, you don't have any contacts to get a deal on shipping here do you? If we could get the shipping around $200 I'm a buyer. Cheers James

James, let me check on that for you. I operate the shipping department where I work, and use U.P.S. every day, so I'll see what I can do.

Guys, I'm really sorry, but I have decided that I can't ship outside the U.S. Hope this hasn't caused any inconvinience to anyone. The guitar is still for sale, and someone will be getting a very nice guitar at a bargain price.

That's fair enough mate.
It's much more difficult for us Oz enthusiasts now USPS has imposed their 42" long 79" girth rule.
I'll have to buy the JL here.
Good luck. Cheers James

Well, I guess no one is interested in this beautiful Anniversary. I can't believe no one grabbed it for the price I was asking. Oh well, it's not eating anything. I'll just hold on to it.

Sorry Roundback,

But I received the I-triple-dog-dare-you-to-try-that-again--near-death-glare from the wife when I got that '02 Collector's a couple weeks back. Otherwise, you would have definitely heard from me about this one! :(

But take heart, the Christmas price hike season is just around the corner. I'll bet you get a decent price then! Of course, I'll still be out of luck because I'll be too broke from buying presents for my family to buy one like that for myself. Oh well.

It's a great guitar though, and I wish you the best.

Hey Patch, I appreciate that, and I know where your coming from. I have a wife, also. That's why I have to sell something every time I want to buy something. Your right, though, the price will probably be higher next time. I had a weak moment, but this is a nice old Anniversary, and i'm not going to give it away.

I got the Anniversary out of the case and looked it over today. Not a mark on it anywhere. Bowl is perfect. Neck is flawless. All the neck binding, and Herringbone body binding is perfect. Finish doesn't even have a scratch. I am pretty critical about condition, and that is why I mentioned the top bulge, as I call it, but I really don't think that the average person would even know it was there. The case is in the same immaculate condition as the guitar, and has the factory case goodies still in it. It's basically a brand new 1978 model. Oh, and it sounds amazing. The guitar will still be for sale for a while, but the price has gone up. I am pricing it at 500.00 plus actual shipping, and that is a great buy for a near mint Anniversary. I don't know what I was thinking.
