I'm thinking of going. Anyone else? Not exactly an OFC tour, but close enough and a reason to hang and jam in New Hartford. As I've posted elsewhere, the Big G is building some really nice stuff on Greenwoods Road and specifically I'm head over heels in love with my D40. It's been a LONG time since a guitar maintained that "new guitar lust" for me as long as this one. Would be great to see the factory and meet the hands that built it. Sounds like you need to be a member of LTG to attend, so go over there and check it out. Let me know if you're planning to go and maybe we can plan a clandestine roundback discussion out in the back behind the dumpster or something. I'm not 100% but leaning hard, so keep in touch on this one. And PLEEEZE do not post or pester Al about an OFC Tour. If it's going to happen he will certainly inform us in due time. And if it doesn't happen it's sure not due to lack of effort on his part. I'm posting this thread to alert people that might be interested, not to stir up any shit, so PLEEEZE give Al a break, OK? Maybe see you on the 30th.

Maybe as good as any of the recent imports. Friday I left the office with a coworker who was going to take his son to the guitar store for lessons. He had an old Guild that belonged to his mother, who had died the week before. I went with him and tried to tune the old Guild for him while he waited. The high E broke. All the strings were rusty. Made in USA but I forgot the model number. I like the history, so I'll find out more and give it a try with some new strings.

I'm guessing the Chinese gear is newer, but I'm not ready for that yet.. It was bad enough when I was in Korea in 2001 and seeing what seemed like EVERYONE using technology that wasn't available in the US until now... and some probably still isn't.

I have a Chinese copy of a LP goldtop and a Korean version of the Hofner violin bass that the craftsmanship just can't be beat! The electronics... who knows! Why shouldn't they be as good as what we get here in the US? They probably came from them anyway.
