Anyone have or know of one of these for sale?

I have been Ovation-less for a while.

Tom

Doing well. Pretty busy. Was playing last week and one of our new band members had a celebrity. Kinda made me homesick.

Still looking for a 2009 Koa Collectors.

Good Choice Doc. I hope you get one. You may want to check with AL to see if he can locate one. He gave me a great deal on mine.

Good choice. I didn't get one just 'cuz I'm a little bit koa'd out with other models right now. But it's certainly a very nice guitar.

Interestingly, at the factory tour last week I saw lots of koa in storage but it was all back/side grade. I didn't see any for koa tops.

I emailed Al a few days ago. He has the LAV Koa, but cannot get the 2009. I like the center hole and the tortoise with abalone binding.

I have three:

#001 (not for sale)
#062
#082

At the end of the availabilty, "collected" 062 and 082 as it always takes a little time for Koa to be appreciated.

EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTY, as I am not a dealer, these are brand new and have been kept in their cases. They were bought from Al in a moment of foolishness (by Al) and GAS (by me).

They are available for sale now or later...

By the lack of availability it looks like these are going to become a very good investment. It would be wise to snag any you could get from Tony. I'd really be suprised to see anybody letting go of the ones they have now. They are nicer looking than any pictures could begin to show. And they sound and play as good as they look.

Does anybody really believe in Ovations as investments?

I have several rare pieces and I don't get nothing for them. I like and love them anyhow and did not buy them to make money, but music, but - hey, what do I know?

Best regards,
Kurt

NFW. It'll have about the same investment returns as a new car.

Are Ovations an investment?

Yes and no. Go to your local hardware store and look at all the power tools on display. Would a Makita power drill be a good investment? Yes, if you use it properly it can help you earn a good living and as such, it was a good investment. Is the tool itself an investment that you can simply resell in years time and make a profit? Certainly not.

Ovation makes some great instruments and in the power drill way of thinking they are good investments to get the job the job done. Maybe enough to earn a living or maybe even become rich and famous. Who knows.

Most guitars that bring in the big bucks are pre-war.

Ovations were non-existent back then along with Taylors and other current favorites. Give it another 20-25 years and see what the original slotheads go for (when they can be found on the market)!

No, but I think if I buy more expensive tools things could change.
