I had wanted to post this for several weeks: several members know and they have waited for me to let everyone know and I thought post 4500 would be a good jumping off point. I will be taking some time off for several weeks: I'm having surgery on my neck involving spacers and titanium plates and the like...I am not sure of the recovery time, but I have lived in pain for too long since I injured it in Oct. 07...
I will not be able to make it to Amelia and Beal graciously acknowledged that and someone else will now be able to attend. This has been a stressful time on several fronts so a little downtime will be good. My best wishes to you all and hope to see you back in a few weeks: SWMBO will keep you updated if need be. The surgery is scheduled for Feb. and I have preliminary stuff between now and then.
I am hoping to make it to SSSJ IV in the summer!
Take care and be well!

Mike, you know I'm pulling for you. When all this is over with, you are going to feel even better than you think. Not only will the pain be gone, but after years of hurting, your mind is going to be at peace. And while you're recuperating your beautiful daughter can play her new guitar for you!

I didn't know the MS did people neck stuff :)
Seriously though, best of luck, I know what that back pain stuff is like, hurt mine back in the Corps.
I wish you the speediest of recovery and you'll be in my prayers.
Don't forget to pinch a nurse every once in a while :)

Best of luck, Mike. I don't know eaxactly what procedure you are having done, but I had a disk removed and 3 vertabrae fused. I walked out of the hospital that day, and was able to return to work in a week. Hopefully you will do as well.

Good luck Mike, hope all goes well. I'd have a go at Iffy for calling you a sissy, but I've witnessed his pain threshold first hand.
