The OFC CD Vol.2 have started to ship. Response thus far has been very heavy. More than 75 orders. ORDER NOW. I'm going to shut this down at 100 copies. Below is the TRACK LISTING to give you an idea what's on there:

Well ...what do ya know. The song we send in on a lark makes the CD.
I'm not second guessing Dave's choice. He puts together a very interesting collection of music.
I'm really looking forward to it.

Brad, that song's not a lark at all. I like it. Good lead licks! The CD is something like 79:58 long on an 80 minute disc. I had to make a few choices based on song length to make it all fit. Look at it this way, you're definately getting your moneys worth. Dave

Hey... I feel honored to make the cut. We have a huge pool of real musical talent here.
"Secret Agent Man" was one of those songs where we had long conversations wether we could or even should try to take a swing at it.

Boy howdy, Dave, you are a "busy bee". Producer, manufacturer, solo performer, back-up duties, marketing, media. Very impressive, and very appreciated. Should be another great product!

You forgot pic distributor ...

If I do say so myself, I think the CDs came out pretty good. Of course the performances are great. Pros, amatures, doesn't matter. We definately went up-scale on the package. Jewel cases this time instead of paper sleeves. Great label AND jewel case graphics by Cliff. Better packaging for shipping (hard cardboard envelopes). Definately a better product. I think they only ended up costing me twice what we sell them for. Oh well.

But seriously, I AM going to run out of patience for this pretty quickly. PLACE YOUR ORDERS.

Dave

Thanks so much, Dave, for including TWO (count 'em) of our cover tunes. Jeff and I met on this site last spring and have been trying to fit as much practice in between our families and day jobs... Hey, this month we're on the OFC CD and have a coupla REAL gigs! Sweet!

Question:

How come "DavidWitko" gets mentioned on a lot of people's songs in lieu of the person who submitted them???

I assumed it meant that Witko overdubbed all the vocals so that we could hear him croon on almost every track.

Creative control. I guess this means ukulele on every track.

Ok, ok .... so I screwed up the track listing a little bit. It'll get repaired on Thursday. That's why the track listing is NOT on the printed labels.

To appreciate (or not) my error, you have to understand the creative process. I start with 20 tracks of ME. Ukes, kazoos, the whole she-bang (shut up Cliff). One by one I replace MY songs with YOUR songs, however painful that may be. In my haste I made a few typos on the webpage. I "think" the CDs are OK. Or not.

They're great, Dave, in spite the remaining ukes, kazoos and whole she-bang.

Got mine today and gave it a quick listen (it'll get much more in the next couple of days). Very easy to hear how talented some of you guys are. Thanks for letting the rest of us listen in. Great job to all involved.

If they're not, then the one's with the typos are more "Collectible"??

Actually, I didn't even notice it . . .
JohnBruggy called me up ranting & raving at what a f@ckin' idiot you were.

But I put 'im STRAIGHT, Dave!!
I said, "Hey Pal!! . . NObody gets t'call Witko a f@ckin' idiot but ME!!! . . . so WATCH it!!!"

(Actually, Bruggy DIDN'T call you that, btw. I think he just said "idiot".)

I've uploaded "Member's Night Out Vol. 2" into the iTunes DataBase. For those who use iTunes, the CD Track Titles and Artist's Names are now recognized and can be downloaded.

Playing is ok, its when I open my mouth that things go south...no amount of chorus or wizardry is going to cover up my singing off key :o

I've got the vocals covered, Tim. I always had a good set of pipes that I got from my mother. My dad couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but I got the volume from him. Unfortunately, the vocals also slipped during my 25 year hiatus from music.

I submitted the CD info to the CD Info Database - so if you use something like Musicmatch Jukebox, you can type in the CD name (Members Night Out - Vol. 2) and it will look up the track listing for you and automatically populate it. I'm not sure how long it takes for the info to get into the database - I just submitted it now.
