OK, I am new to Ovation. A Taylor 300 series owner. Bought the Celebrity cc026 a few weeks ago and let's just say my Taylor is still sitting on it's stand. Can't put the Celebrity down.

Now, I have heard many comments about the Celebrity not being a "real" Ovation. So my question is, what is real? Is it because they are made in Korea? I have to tell you the fit, finish, and quality is excellent. What other Ovations should I be looking at for my next purchase? I do like the mid size bowl for unplugged sound. Does the Balladeer and Legend have the same neck size and fretboard radius? Let me know the advantages of them. I will be looking very soon. Thanks everyone.

The Celebrity is a real Ovation it's just made in Korea.
Now, most things you'll read out here are folks extolling the USA made Ovations as the real deal.
Their is nothing wrong with a Celebrity! They are great guitars for that price range. I bought one abaout six years ago second hand for $100 and it served me well - got me back into playing guitar which I had let drop by the wayside.
The USA ones are better guitars and they are priced much higher, because they have better materials, craftsmanship, etc.
Owning a Celebrity and hanging out here led me to buying a new Legend, but I can afford it now!
Check out the Ovation web site for specifics on the different models, if you have a wad of cash wait for a good on one e-bay, if not find a local dealer and get it in lay-away.

The celebrity is a real ovation, make no mistake. It's just that everyone likes to aspire to the upper end of things, makes us feel mo'impotant. And the upper end of any product line is always more exciting than the entry level. And yes, the product is better than the Ko-Rean guitars but they cost much more too.
