The picture says it all. She'll have a guitar that can keep up with her for a long time.

Very cool, Alison! She's a lucky girl to have you as a mentor.

I still remember the guitar that I started with. An old beat up thing that made my fingers bleed the action was so poor.
A very lucky girl! It is so wonderful that you are able to do this for her.

Yes, and I got it in yesterday's mail. It's beautiful and will really dress up Shelby's guitar. Woody, I thank you and Shelby thanks you! Now, unfortunately, it's going to snow pretty hard on Friday, and as Shelby comes in from about 15 miles away, she probably won't make it in. Heck, the way they DON'T plow out here, I probably won't make it in either. I'm only a mile from the shop but I live on a hilltop, and the road to my house has a very long and steep, icy bridge.

Oh well, if I can't make it in I'll just stay home and play my banjo.

What a fabulous story! I too obviously had the wrong teacher when I was young. I'd love to hear what she sounds like on it in about 5 years. This kinda reminded me of the guy here on OFC I've never met who kicked in a fourth of the selling price on my Elite I received earlier this week, and who has offered me another donation to help with the cost if I send it in for a re-top. Great place and great people.
