Location: Detroit, MI | Standing Ovation. You said you'd keep your Josh White, after giving all the reasons you should keep others. So, what is it about the JW tha makes it your keeper?
Roger: I work at the library in Canton, MI. Stop in any week-day and say hello. You should request that the library purchase a book Serge told me about the other day: The History of the Ovation Guitar.
BTW: Since I only own one Ovation, obviously, I would keep my new (82) CA. Great guitar. Now, if I had to choose between it and a a new cutaway CA, or a JW or Folklore Deluxe... I'd be in trouble. I think I would keep an Ovation CA over a Folklore model since I have a lot other steel strings.
What's the dif between a jr member (me) and a real member :-) ?

Location: Nova Scotia, Canada | If calamity struck and I absolutely couldn't keep one electric and one acoustic my choice would have to be my Bluebird 6 (UK2 version). Reason being, it is easier to simulate acoustic playing on an electric than the other way around.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Folklore, I own a copy of the "History of Ovation" book already. :D I don't know if it would be a popular title otherwise for the library to have.
I'll try to stop in at the library sometime, too...but I'm a 40-hour-a-week daytime working stiff so it might be a while......I presume you work days, too???

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | I'd have to stick with my MEWP. But I've got a growing fondness for my 1976 CA. The only thing it lacks is a cutaway. I suppose I spend about a fifth of my time above the 14th fret. So I wish I had a country artist with a cutaway; I think that would be my primary ovation. But since I don't, I'm going to chose my MEWP over the CA and the celebrity) The MEWP (which is really a CVT) has many wonderful qualities, but it's most unsung one, when played with a pick, are it's dynamics. Very loud, to very soft. I did a post awhile ago on it, which really detailed its attributes. |

I will need to only bring 3 with me.
Adamas 1 1688-8 (916-95) this is #1 in the boat.
The Adamas (New) Slot Head W681TA-5 is #2.
And the fun is still looking for #3.
Is it the 30th? Maybe?
Having the 3 boys it will be easy "visiting" the others. They can always come back for an extended sleep-over.

Ol' Faithful has seniority, and likely would be the last to go, given some cataclysm. A past survey at least posed the question, "You have two hands. As you run out of the engulfed inflagration, which two do you grab?" Yeah, I'm wafflin'.....sue me. The other one has to be Smiley- that pudgy l'il bastid just makes me laugh. |

I haven't posted a "review" of my new Adamas MEII1598 12 string as I should have. Several factors have played into why I haven't...one being, she's had some "quality control" issues and went back to the factory only days after arriving. Thanks to Kim and Al, she's finally home (about a month) and in tip top shape...and she'd DEFINITELY be the one I'd keep.
To me, this guitar is un-freakin'-believable. Amazing action (even above the 12th!) and sound. She's a revamped version of the original ME1598, with some of the LX features, and sounds a bazillion times better than the older ME model (which I never liked). I've gotten a bunch of compliments on her sound, and I haven't even gigged her yet! So far, I've been running her (just cuz of laziness) through a flat channel in my PA for rehearsals, which doesn't have ANY eq options, and this guitar just ROCKS! So RICH, ALIVE and full. Usually I have to run some pedals and boost the bass. She's the best sounding "O" I've owned, and it was worth the 4 or 5 month wait. My GAS is curbed...for a while...and THAT is an unusual feeling!
