First time I've posted in about a year. Did you miss me (only joking, doubt if anyone noticed me going in the first place)?

I mainly feel inspired to post thanks to watching the 'No Quarter' Led Zep release on DVD. Although this has been around on VHS for some time I was too proud to buy it until they bought it out on DVD.

It was worth the wait - especially as Ovation seems to get a prominent product placement. I recall some mixed opinions on JP's virtuosity in the past but I think we can all agree on his taste in guitars.

I was suprised to see that in addition to the legendary double neck, he also plays a LE 1984 Elite. It would be interesting to know what JP thinks about Ovation guitars, has he ever expressed an opinion publicly, for example, in an interview? Given that he does have a sweet sounding Martin D-Something, I wonder if there is a special reason he chooses to use Ovations?

He's clearly not a guitar snob, viz the label on the headstock, because he also plays a fairly uninteresting Ibanez acoustic on one of the tracks.

Anyway, its great to check out some of the post since my previous visit and see the same banter between players going on

Welcome back Big L. We certainly have had some interesting banter in the past year. I'll have to check out the Led Zep DVD.
