Some know the story: EBay...$300...lots of potential problems due to past issues/repairs.
I give it to my friend/repair expert at the music store...around Christmas last year. He buys the store on Jan. 1 and his life spins out of control as a new business owner. My guitar gets forgotten (along with dozens of others).
F/fwd to yesterday: I spent the afternoon with Bill in his shop. He has put about 50 hours of thought into my guitar's problems for every 1/2 hr of work.
The top had split at the seam, the bridge had twisted forward, the braces had pulled loose, the saddle-then the BRIDGE had been shaved down a lot to make it playable, a Bridge Dr. installed.
Yesterday he showed me how, over the past 7 months, he's thought about and repaired all of this mess: removed Bridge Dr., reglued braces, repaired seam split, added walnut to the bridge to strengthen it, re-install Bridge Dr.(this time with a wood block against the bowl), install the B-Band preamp and p/u I had given him.
All this FREE OF CHARGE. He just did it as a labor of love for a friend. It plays like a dream and doesn't look that much worse for wear (unlike myself).
I thought it was a nice human interest story for a Saturday morning. John <>{

I need someone to help me figure that out. I tried once and I just wind up with that little icon.
