I'm new around here, but I have been the proud owner of an Ovation guitar for many years now!
My question to the fan club is, how can I identify the year my 1517 was manufactured and it's original list price? Also do you know what strings are recommended for it?
Sticker Info:
Model No: CC1517S
S/N: 546037
Made in Korea

Thanks everyone!

Welcome aboard. |

Location: closely held secret | Welcome, Ken! I had a 1517D (my first O!) for a few years. I think the Ultra acoustic line were some of the best O's to come out of Korea.
It's pretty hard (as in I don't know how) to date the overseas models by serial#. Depending on the year, the original list could have been anywhere from $500 to $650.
For strings, I'd recommend Adamas 1818's if you like uncoated, D'Addario EXP lights if you like coated. You could also do a search on this board and find many other recommendations. |
