Can I get permission to post in the Adamas topic? I have some questions that are not answered by the existing threads.

Go ahead and post your question here. I'll go ahead and move it to the General Forums where it will get the most traction.

Great, although I have read the rules and I’m having trouble with the rational. I’ve never seen posting rules as restrictive as this on other forums

Most threads in this forum have zero replies.
New users can’t post anywhere except here
New users having questions, or something to add to, existing threads in other forums must post here and create a new thread here instead of adding to an existing one in another forum.

So at what point is a new user allowed to post and reply to threads in other forums? Ever?

Great question.

This forum has been around for over 25 years, and one thing you may have noticed is that there is almost no spam anywhere. That is very intentional and something the community really values.

Most people who find the Ovation FanClub are simply looking for an answer to a specific question, not necessarily to join the larger community long term. The Welcome Center lets us help those folks efficiently. A small group of moderators can quickly handle common questions, many of which have been asked hundreds or thousands of times, and the user can move on once they have what they need.

If someone wants to be more involved, or if their question goes beyond what the moderators can reasonably answer and would benefit from the broader knowledge and experience of the membership, their account is upgraded so they can post and reply in the other forums. At that point, questions are usually moved to the appropriate section so more members can see them, share their experience, and help out.

So please go ahead and post your question here. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I am happy to move it to the appropriate Forum where it will get the most traction and the widest range of responses and you will be upgraded to full membership.
