Nice to hear from North Carolina

I went through basic training with a guy from Hendersonville, and we travelled all over the country together. We ended up in Virginia, where he married a very wealthy girl on a leave back home to Asheville, and showed back up at Ft Eustis with a wedding present of a brand new '54 Pontiac Bonneville and a new wife, and rented an apartment in Williamsburg, VA and entertained us ordinary dogies in great style. His name was Elliot, but I can't remember if that was first or last.

I really miss the beauty of the Asheville area. I was born in Murphy, grew up in Morganton, and went to college in Swannanoa. I've lived in Houston for 15 years, so I realize now that I took that area for granted when I was growing up. I sure would like to just take a walk somewhere around Montreat, or Linville, or Weaverville, or Black Mountain, or even just the Warren Wilson campus for a few hours.

Congratulations on your O.

Stark and LX check your emails....Stark, sorry to hear about imperfections in your new arrival. I'm sure they will fix you up. As for the sound...how's your first impression with that? I was blown away after the first riff. Couldn't get it out of my mind and at the risk of divorce went back with plastic...now that the little ladies over it I'm glad I asked for forgiveness as opposed to begging for permission. Early Christmas present...ha
Because I heard the following week
from the salesman @ Music City, someone came back to buy it a few days after I bought it...was that you Stark? (insert smile)
I always try to trade locally if the price is right and I like to see what I'm buying case in point. I do think I got a very nice example, haven't found any visual human errors thus far...too busy playing it. But I do have a problem with the pickup...Ovation is sending me a new pickup housing, hopefully to correct that.

Elite04,
It wasn't me who returned to the store, but I had been in to see the guitar there, prior to my purchasing. When I was there, he had a problem pulling the preamp to show me how to change the battery, but it didn't seem like much of an issue. Glad to hear that Ovation is taking care of it for you.

I would have done the local purchase thing, but I was able to save a few ;-) dollars online, and it included the case for well below what the local guy was asking.

Anyway, the sound is unbelieveable. I have been so used to my Guild 12 string that I think I forgot how a 6 string sounds. This is one Great Guitar !! :D

I did check my email too!

Hizzoner - Yes, as requested, Santa delivered a digital camera and I have already taken some photos of the 1778-LX-BCB in the fire place. I have tried to load the photos onto the web site, but with no success yet, but I will get it right soon.

Happy New Year to you all.

Thanks fine folks...it has such a great tone..unlike any of the other Ovations I had over the years. This one sounded really good from day one but has really opened up over the last few months. I swear it's a AAA top. The picture doesn't do it justice and I added some ebony buttons..sweet

What's the OFC?

because he did not pay attention, he did the brown acid when he was not suppposed to. It is not that it was poison, it was just manufactured poorly.

Damn

Al is healthy again and kicking a%^ (cans in the street, for those who don't understand a%^).

There is a plan afoot to deny the OFC as even existing, in WWII General Patton was in charge of an effort to mislead the Germans, they faked tanks, trucks etc. to make the Germans think they were massing to invade somewhere other than Normandy. Infiltrating the Al and learning the truth about the OFC will require the skill of a KGB operative.

Zrastvetchea Tovarisch, kak vie, Ioshchenko lives!!

Infiltration is now begun.

The real reason is that alot of us in the OFC have wanted Ovation (the mothership) to issue an OFC Limited Edition guitar for some time now. It looks like this year, they will, thanks in great measure to Al and others. Needless to say, we are VERY excited... :D

Thank you worshipleader! That'all I was asking and apparently a few of the others were confused from the lysergic acid roaming around in their brains from the 60's.. :D
