Hello, 1st post here! I bought a Celebrity bass. The pickup works untill you switch the preamp ON, then it just goes dead. Could someone tell me how to troubleshoot this? It's a beater guitar that I only payed $50 for, so I would like to try and fix it myself. Anyone know where I could find a schematic for this preamp? Is it even worth trying to fix, or should I be looking to upgrade it? Thanks in advance, Casey

First, Welcome Casey!

Second, which button are you pushing to switch it ON?

And you say that it "Works until you switch the preamp ON"?
(so I guess you are really switching it OFF, huh?)

And there are smarter people here than me... They will be along shortly. :D

The top button is the preamp in/out switch. Silly question... did you try a new battery?

Yes, the top button. Good battery. When I switch it to "in" the thing goes dead. I have pulled it out of the guitar and pulled the preamp covers off, but I can't find out how to trouble-shoot it. None of the components are visibly damaged or burned, but I know electronics can be tricky. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the suggestions so far!
