| Hello from Spain. It's my first post
I'm happy to discover this forum.
I own a 80-81's 1624 nylon guitar, but battery box is out of order as you can see in pictures.
First , It has lost cover (not very important). It seems previous owner altered electrical connection, but I've checked and working..
Second, I've tried to put inside the box battery, but cannot get affix with screw.
According to pictures, how can I put right the battery box and affix ?
Do I need buy another battery box set?
I need your advice, please
Finally, you can see volume knob and tone are not original and not working properly. Where can I buy one replace?
Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my bad english!

I was hoping for one of our Spanish-typing members would respond.
Do you need another battery box? No.
You could possibly glue that metal piece back into the box.
The Foam Rubber square goes around the metal piece to maintain tension on the retaining bolt.
That bolt goes through the side of the bowl, then the washer, then the retaining clip.
OR! I would just get a battery pouch with a Velcro attachment and stick it inside the bowl.
Like This That works just fine for many brands of guitar.
If you don't want to order from the USA, any brand from any supplier will work.

| Thank you for your answer,Arthur.
I'll try all you indicate me
I need glue the foam rubber square to the box?
Second solution , battery poach with a velcro seems a good idea, also..
This poach goes stick inside, but I need glue or adhesive?
About volume and tone control knob, where can I get a replace?
All the best

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Your battery box has been disconnected.
That battery clip is not original.
You would need to re-wire the box. Get new contact tabs and a cover.
Or get a new box. I didn't really notice this when I first looked.
The easier way is to just get the pouch.
Those pouches come with the Velcro in the kit.
There will be a piece that has a sticky side that you would just put inside the bowl.
So it will have a peel-and-stick adhesive side.
You can find them online, or your local guitar repair shop might have them.
Where you put it? Near the little hole in the side where the original box was.
So, the pouch would be the easiest way to go.
As to the knobs... The ones that you have work, they are just ugly.
You can find stacked knobs that would work online.
It might be hard to find original knobs, but you could get a set that matches.
THESE could work... or something similar.
Just measure and go shopping.
Or you could contact Ovation to see if they have replacement knobs.
Hope that helps.
