Location: Atlanta | I was recently given an Ovation guitar by my grandfather. I don't have much knowledge of these type of guitars and I'm hoping that someone will give me some insight on whether or not I have a real treasure. I'm not necessarily looking to sell it or find out it's value I would just like an educated opionion on it. The ovation website doesn't give much more than the general specs and I can't find anything on the web. Anyway, here are the specs and any info would be greatly appreciated.
- Ovation Legend 1756
- 12 string
- serial number-144138
Guitar is absolutely perfect and plays like a gem.
Thanks for any help |

Welcome Aboard. Try the reference section to see if it's helpful. It will help you isolate model numbers and serial numbers as to the year it was produced. the Ovation site will let you know mor eabout the bracing, Top, Pick-up etc. Hope it helps. Don't be a Stranger. |

You have a treasure! Not only in a very nice guitar but a heirloom from your Grandfather!
Ovation site on the 1756
Keep in mind the amount of energy and appreciation pured in from the previous owner!
The Legend is a high end instrument. A Legend 12 string is a wonderful tool! You should be enjoying excellant tone and about the best neck available anywhere.
What color is it? You need to post pictures and share.
A fellow Legend 12 string owner :D |

Location: Atlanta | Thanks guys. I have some pics I'll put up tomorrow. It's black and I actually just put 12 strings on it because it only had 6 when he gave it to me. He traded an old colt pistol for it a few years back apparently it belonged to a singer in an old Cuban band that I can't remember the name of. I love the way the guitar sounds and it seems like it really shows it's brilliance when it is plugged up. |
