at McCabe's, February 16
"....Kaki King is the most striking young musician to emerge in decades. The 23-year-old acoustic-guitar instrumentalist and composer alternates between hard percussive flailing and banging (literally using her ax as a drum) and the fleetest, most fluid right- and left-hand fingers.
Sometimes she drapes both hands above her round-backed Ovation and taps the strings over the neck and bridge, improvising passages in altered tunings lower than standard to achieve a booming bottom. The stunned audience went ballistic at her spectacular musicianship."

Location: Tennessee | What a great review ... and bang on! I can't wait for Kaki to come back to California so I can get friends and colleagues to the show! And while she's in NYC, I think she'd make a great musical guest on SNL. Anyone out there connected to NBC? |

I haven't rung in here too much on Kaki and she seems to be a definite star. I hope that you are providing a solid foundation for her as she rises through the business. She's lucky because she is an instrumentalist and they survive. look at Chet, Glen, our favorite, and Willie. In all the years I've been in to music I've seen a lot of fad over talent but that's the curse of age, hindsight instead of prophecy.
