Just received my Legend 1767-6 from the Mother Ship today. This was the guitar I purchased from Paul Blanchard.

For the 2nd time in as many months, John, Kim and the psychos at the Ovation Service Dept. have turned another acceptable "beater" into another piece of furnature that must now hang on the wall and never be played again. I'm definitely turning my amp into a coffee table this time.

Among the repairs :

Full neck reset
repair much of the ivory binding around the neck
new frets
new nut
total refinish of the back of the neck
new gold ovation inlay on headstock
rebuff top
new strings

It looks absolutely brand new. The white is starting to yellow slightly into that cool looking pearl.

If you're reading this, GREAT JOB GUYS !

I'll try to post some pics when I get my camera back.

Ernie

For a moment I thought you were pissed off! Glad it worked out so well!

My usual response, upon return of one of my "projects" from The MotherShip, "I'm not worthy." Jeff has one of them, a restored Pacemaker. I understand the approbation from the 2006 Tour Attendees was deafening.
I doubt I ever part with the 1127. As I named it "Connelly", i.e., "She makes me want to be a better guitarist."

Chris, so it's your fault that I'm about to spend money on my old GC12 string. I played that Pacemaker in CT in May and was thrilled with the sound and playability of it.

I have a love/hate thing going with Kim, John, and the guys. Love, because they really do a spectacular job on our old instruments. Hate, because I end up spending money on old guitars that I probably shouldn't. But then we're back to love again, because it's never as expensive as you'd think it would be.

In other words, those guys are great.

I am very glad I was able to offer Ernie a deal that made it cost effective to send it in for restoration. Ernie is a very, very classy guy with whom to do business.
