| Greetings and salutations. I am posting this to inquire if any members have come across a mid to later 70's Ovation with a Square of "flat topped" headstock. It has what appears to be a genuine Ovation Made in the USA label inside, Model number is printed as being an 1132-4....serial number is 090856. The last two digits appear to be a different color than the first four. Ovation.com says this was produced in 1977 between the months of January and September of that year. I am at a loss to explain it other than a replacement neck. However, there are no indicators that it is not original...the patina matches overall and the inside sections of the body do not appear to have been tampered with. I have ben playing and repairing all sort of guitars since the early 70's and can reasonably assure that this is the original neck. Help guys...I am lost here...thanks |

The original neck on those Ultras were foam and the fretboard was aluminum. Sounds like you have a well done replacement. |

Is it "flat" like a Martin headstock?
Or is it flat like someone cut the duckbill off of an Ovation headstock?
