Anybody here know what this mysterious guy who won't reveal his setup, plays??

another brand of what? do you mean maton bb1200 or has he returned to that tube works amps.

but, who wants to sound like josh homme? surely, I've got, accidentaly, the same guitar and the same amp but I sound completely different. as fact of "Each guitar player has this desire to sound different" , so why does homme should do anything to change his sound? then every les paul and marshall player has to search for for new guitars and amps.
this doesn't make much sense in my opinion.

afaik he is not using the Ovation Gp any longer.

relax, I have no real opinion on which guitar he uses. I like his stuff but am not running out to duplicate his tone style or equipment.

I read an interview with Josh somewhere, in which he said he played every note on every song of the four Kyuss albums through the neck pickup of his GP, and when he finally decided to use the bridge pickup afterward the switch was so stiff he had to spray it with WD-40.

THAT is a "setup tip."
