I was at the Carle Place, NY, Guitar Center this past weekend to buy some strings and as usual I went into the acoustic guitar room to see what they had. There, hangin on the wall was what was listed as a used 1687 Adamas deep bowl with a textured blueburst top. It had the two wooden knobs for volume and tone. It was unusual in that the headstock and bridge were plain, not carved. It had old very light gauge stings. The ticket price was $1299. I'd never played a deep bowl Adamas, so I picked it up and was amazed at the sound, even with the old thin strings. This was the best acoustic sound that I ever heard from a guitar and I can only imagine what is would sound like with new strings. The guitar was in excellent condition with minimal fretwear and no cosmetic flaws.

Considering that Ovation had re-issued the Custom Legend as a 30th Anniversary model with a non-cutaway, deep bowl, are there any plans for a deep bowl non-cutaway Adamas re-issue?

They might reissue one, but it would never be as inexpensive as this guitar.

Without looking up the model number, it sounds like an Adamas II, not a I.

Sounds like it was a 1681, Adamas II. If it was in good shape, $1299. is a hell of a deal.

Michael, Get over it - nobody is going to buy your left over junk. You need to price it for what it really is - JUNK! Nobody wants this stuff.

Now, being the sharp businessman you are ... here's the deal. YOU send all this junk to me. I'll store it for you free of charge until the economy turns around, let's say 18 months. Then I'll sell it for you on ebay and take 20% for my troubles. I'll even put on new strings. Do we have a deal?

Dave

Funny Dave, smart people think alike. I just told Al the same thing about his Adamas guitars. In fact, I think I have told Tony the same thing too. When they send me their stuff, I send you mine. How's that?

If the offer is to trade all MY stuff for all YOUR stuff ... you've got a deal. Dave
