You guys in the States all seem to need to humidify your instruments - having to add moisture.  I have the opposite problem.

I've had to empty my DEhumidifier 3 times (about 3/4 gallon each time) in the last 18 hours - an approaching cyclone (a Southern Hemisphere hurricane) isn't helping.

Stay safe, Muzz It's looking pretty nasty, even by the time it gets to you.

We used to have a dehumidifier when we lived in Wisconsin. It was one of my chores as a kid to empty it and if I waited too long it was all I could do to lift the basin and dump it out. I got in real trouble if I forgot and it overflowed. I'm sure the modern ones have some sort of shut off.

depending on your type of head and the temp outside the humidy can get real low. I start to freak under 30 percent and start filling up the humidifiers.

We start at about 35% and go down from there.
It was quite a change from when I lived in Houston on the gulf coast.
