Dawn Langstroth

George Massenburg is in the process of producing and recording an album with Dawn, who's Mom is Anne Murray. Here is a taste. Be sure to click on the "watch in high quality" button for a new youtube experience. All done live in his studio with George in the studio among the musicians as he mixes. All star line-up of the finest musicians, too.

Look at the associated lists on the youtube page to see a bunch of videos where Dawn plays and sings with an Ovation. Cool tunes: "Elevator Music" and "Where Were You"

Beautiful voice, cool looking studio, looks like mostly diffusion acoustical treatments. I like that high quality video choice.

I found that vid a few weeks back and I think Dawn is great. I had gone to a private concert featuring Anne Murray and can say she is still in fine musical form.

The studio is unreal. The diffusion treatment is random cut sheets of mdf and state of the art. It's a room within John and Martina McBride's amazing Blackbird Studio complex in Nashville.

The link is to a technical paper with pictures of the studio. Takes a little time to download, but worth it. The room was designed for state of the art 5.1 work.

Massenburg is good. Listen to an old Flim & the BB's album sometime. Great dense yet crystal clear sound. One of the first producers to record straight to digital.

You are correct Wabbit. That's a link to a list of his albums from his website. Some pretty timeless stuff he has engineered.

Tom Jung from Minneapolis did the early Flim albums, but George did a couple of the later ones, too.
