I have an ovation celebrity cc57 that I am trying to sell, but I have only a little knowledge of its value. I know it was made between 92-93, and according to Ovations website it has an estimated value of about 500$. I recieved this as a gift when I was a child ( I was really into music at the time) and I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me...I have linked here some pictures to the guitar, its in great condition, and was just restrung less than a week ago. If any other information is required feel free to PM me or send me an email. Thank you. Ric

I sold one just like it, in pristine shape, last year for 180.00 with the case. I think it's a CC 057. Does it have an OP 24 preamp?

I think you're looking at the original retail price, not the current value. The guitars usually sell new for less than the retail price and the used value is significantly less.
I think the CC57 was the predecessor to the CC057. A couple year old CC057 might be in the $200 range if it had the preamp with a tuner (OP30). Discount some more for age.

That's probably a pretty fair offer. You might check ebay for similar completed sales. That will give you a ballpark, but certainly not a bible. Lots of fluctuations based on circumstances like timing and quality of the ad.

Alittle late... But...
My CC57 has a two-knob passive pick-up, and a nasty crack. (Not positive it goes through the wood, but it is unsightly) I paid $112 for it, with a real nice case.
$240 is probably reasonable. (15 years ago, MSRP was $500. But they didn't cost that much then either!) As with any other guitar, it all depends on how bad the buyer wants it...
My CC57 is a pretty basic Far East SSB, but it has nice action.
Good Luck.
