Hi there,

I just came across a Glen Campbell 12 string acoustic in fantastic shape and I was wondering if there is anyone who could tell me what the year of production is and approximately how much it is worth. The model number is 1118-4 and there is another number above the badge on the inside of the body; 047198 (I suspect thats the production number or something) Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome! This is a great guitar; others here will know more than I do, but you've asked the right question at the right place. The Glen Campbells were the original Ovation artist-endorsed models. Grab it!

Probably made in 1975.

Patrick, it's worth roundly $350 to $400. I sold my 1118 on eBay a couple of months ago for the low end of that range.

Maybe a bit more than that price range if it is very clean as you say.

I think I just had one sell for much higher than that range.

My 1118 had absolutely no cracks and just the tiniest of finish checks below the bridge. But it had a neck twist, and that undoubtedly kept the price down a bit. Depends on how well the auction was written, pictures, phase of the moon, etc., as far as what they sell for on eBay. Higher than $400 is certainly possible. Slotheads have their own vibe, which could draw more money.

I saw one that was in PERFECT condition sell for $350 a couple of years ago at my local GC....it still took a couple of weeks for it to sell.

You did Bill, bought by me. Guitar is currently in transit to me.
I hope it sounds as good as it looks !
Considering it's condition and the price of a reissue, I thought the price was pretty fair.
