Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Last night I had the opportunity to be the program for our District Ministers Christmas Banquet: I did a concert and because it was in a church sanctuary, I did not use a PA and played only my Adamas 1688-5 and #47RI...this was the first time I had played the 47RI in a public concert and I was so impressed with the versatility and finesse of the guitar: it literally ranged the whole musical gamut of expressions. And of course the 1688 did just as well: I used it for the last two numbers and the finale...The audience was very complementary and as always, halfway through, I took a minute to talk about the guitars: both the company and construction (without mentioning FMIC once)...I have done this for the past few concerts where I used Adamas guitars only and everyone is always very interested in that aspect and it provides a great place to bond with the audience on a different level: it satisfy’s their curiosity and informs them at the same time...following the performance, I received several offers to travel to other churches for concerts and special programs, etc., and may have a chance to play for our Conference in June before 10,000 in attendance. Pretty exciting!
Interesting enough (Dave pay attention here), the fellow that introduced me (another Minister friend) mentioned that he was surprised that I did not bring the Taylor's but brought Ovations instead...but after hearing the sound of the Adamas I's even he was impressed. It is the first time I have played since the injury to my neck and was a very satisfying time! This is what it is all about! |

Playing in front of 10k? Glad that it's you, and that you have been there before. Spread the Gospel Bro and do it on an "A".
BTW, who's Taylor? An 'ol backup singer?! ;) |

I talk about my guitars to people who come and ask but never considered making it also an interesting point during the night, especially one-nighters, to talk about the instrument I've chosen.
Jim, everyone knows that Taylor is a guy with the same name as you! |
