A few months ago i aquired an Ovation, it's an electric/acoustic Model No.117 Serial#207319

In the timeline i find the numbers stop at 203000 then start back up at 211011.

Any info? Thanks!

Obviously, your's is a bogus guitar, not a real Ovation. I'll take it off your hands for $50. Just to be nice.

Seriously, it was probably made somewhere in that 1979-1980 timeframe. Ovation records are not always the best and sometimes you have to make a best guess. More intereseting, does your guitar have a truss rod cover indicating a truss rod, or no truss rod cover indicating that it has a K bar?

no truss rod cover, i think i have the original case it came with, unfourtunatly the guitar has a deep crack from the bridge to the tail that goes all the way through, but it plays and sounds just fine. And not to mention i got it for 40$ along with some other cheap Suzuki acoustic.

Bill, sounds like if you sell it to Moody you will still make a profit. Go for it!

Sell it? hahah that's funny......

I like it way too much to sell, the neck feels great and I'm not stupid enough to sell it for 50$ the case alone is worth that or more. I've seen the same guitar in some old Wings live performances and I think I saw Rodger Waters playing one on some of his solo stuff, which made me think it had to be from the late 70's or early 80's atleast.

Bill,
I'll give you $55 for it. Only because I'm a lot nicer than Moody!

Paul,
I just didn't want to scare away any new-guy's.

Can we send Cliff on a trip away or something?

I'm way cooler than the two of them, Bill. And, I'll give you $79.83 for it! The GAS fun will be wiped out again, but, that's the price I must pay for issuing a proper 'welcome' to the new members.

:)
