hello to all ovation players :)
i bought a used Collector's Series Model 1995. it sounds so far good. trying to adjust the action... its a little bit hi. i put extra light with 11 on 1st string (11-14-20-28-40-50) i guess the neck has a little warp. Manual says .005 to.015 inch is ok but how to measure that?

thanks

Welcome to the club. Perhaps you are the first from Bangladesh, in which case an extra welcome.

What Jeff said is correct. If you search this forum for threads on neck adjustment, you will find a lot of good information.

I measure with either an automotive feeler gauge, or eyeball it with finely marked metal ruler with a "zero" at the end.

Measure from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string.

Didn't we use to have map for where we are? A google thing I think. That would be cool to add a flag from Bangladesh.

Another trick...

Use the cutoff part of the 1st string thats left over after you cut it off of the tuning pegs as a feeler guage. Its .011.

It looks like you are talking about 2 different things. The .005-.015 measurment is for the RELIEF in the neck. Thats measured by holding down the string at the 1st and 13th fret and measuring the distance between the top of the 5th fret and the bottom of the 6th string.

The "ACTION" is measured as the distance between the top of the 12th fret and the bottom of the 6th string, without touching the string. Standard would be around 6/64 or 7/64. The adjustment is made by raising or lowering the saddle, typically by adding or removing a shim underneith.
