Hi guys,

Just got my hands on what appears to be a modded Hamer SATF. I got it down to $275 at GC and with trade paid $76.50.

It doesn't appear to have the stock hardware however. The humbuckers say Seymour Duncan and look like either the SH-1 or SH-PG1 series. All of the hardware is gold plated. Even the tuners look like schallers to me. The vintage series. I'm probably going to have to join the Hamer group to see what's up with it. But I know you guys are big Hamer fans. This guitar is beautiful, plays smoothly and sounds unbelievable. Best electric guitar I've ever owned.

Here's a pic

Nice looking guitar, Frets. I'm not a Hamer expert. Is it a Hamer USA?

No she was made in Korea. Mahogany body with a maple top. Mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. Plays like a dream.

Thanks Al,

Beyond hitting the lottery, I think I did allright!
Thanks for the tip on the hamer site. I tried to post there but I'm not sure I did it right. I'll try again later.

I think you may have gotten an early SATF. I have recently picked up a SATQ, which is roughly the same guitar with a little more glitz. I have read that the earlier model Import Series were about as close to the USA series as you could get, and that the early pick-ups were better quality than the ones they are using on the new imports. Great looking guitar. I have really enjoyed mine.
