Check list for a 6751(well, any 12-string):

-Tune
-Tune
-Tune
-Tune
-Tune
-Tune
-Play

12 strings take more than twice as much tuning, it seems.... :D

Of course you'll have to play:

to everything, Tune, tune, tune

there is a season, Tune, tune, tune...

Congrats! Remember that in everything Ovation makes - they put more of it into the 12 strings!

Congradulations,

If it sounds and play's anthing like my 1989 Elite 1758 You ARE going to be HAPPY!!!!!

Post Pics when you can. Tuning really isn't a problem. Use a good electronic tuner Then check by octave's, ( 12th open E with D string 2nd fret, etc). Once it is in tune a Quality 12 string like Ovation will stay in tune pretty well.

Opp's I think I just Drooled on my keyboard. With all you guys getting new "O"'s I'm beginning to have a "G.A.S." attack.

Have a Great Day.

Even In the Quietest Moments, Give A Little Bit, Sister Moonshine... almost anything Roger Hodgson wrote for Supertramp.

Congrats on your new child!

"World I Know" goes over very well at gigs.
I play it on my 12, and my partner on his 6.

Also:
"Life By The Drop" - SRV
"Alberta" - Clapton
"Wanted, Dead or Alive" - BonJovi
"Tangerine/Thank You" - Led Zeppelin
"Handle With Care" - Wilburys
"Losing My Religion" - REM
"Bad Day" - Tonic

Almost anything you play on a 6 string will sound different on a 12 string. There are very few things that I play on a 6 that I won't play on a 12. Don't get stuck in a trap of thinking "6 string tunes" vs. "12 string tunes".

Of course, it's easy for me, knowing only 3 chords.....

I'd have to disagree to some extent, as there's a bunch of tunes that just don't "sound right" on a 12 . . .

All I'm saying is to try all your tunes on the 12. You'll decide for yourself what sounds right and what doesn't. And I suspect you'll be surprised at the tunes that you thought wouldn't sound good on a 12, that do sound good. Don't go in with preconceived notions.

All I am saying,
Is give 12's a chance......

Some of my favorites to play on the 12 string include:

Handle With Care - Traveling Wilburys
Southern Cross - CSN
Yer So Bad - Tom Petty
Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen
Every Rose Has It's Thorn - Poison

I also started using it for "Come To My Window" with my partner. That one sounds great on the 12.
